Each year, thousands of women die due to complications during pregnancy and childbirth. The risk is even greater for displaced and refugee women and children living in poverty and unsanitary conditions without access to antenatal or obstetric care.(UNHCR) Every pregnant woman, EVERY MOTHER, has the right to have comfort and safety during crucial time of childbirth that every seconds counts and is full of unknowns. Consequently, “Genesis” which is a portable emergency delivery kit has been designed. Every details and compartments help the birthing process safe and similar to the real hospital’s labor room for the Mother, Newborn and Caregiver.
Everyday, numerous babies are born before getting to the hospital. Moreover, in some situations shortage of medical services (especially in the refugee camps or at the time of a natural disaster) make the delivery process even more complicated. Only a small number of women deliver on their given due date. Traditionally, babies born as much as three weeks before their due dates, or up to two weeks after, have been considered full time .
In response to that needs, “Genesis” has been designed from lightweight materials with considerable strength and stability. The size of the packed kit is same as medium suitcase, easy to carry on, stackable and totally waterproof for cleaning operations. In addition to the foldable labor bed (with details), essential kits, towels and …, are placed inside safely.
